Hey Everyone,
This week was crazy and full of
miracles. Fasting and praying really work. So this week we have done a lot of
tracting. It is really hard to find people here. Usually when we knock on a
door and tell people we are missionaries they tell us they are not interested
and close the door pretty fast even when we offer to serve them. It’s cool
because there are a lot of different types of people here. I have talked to
people from Europe, Islanders, Asians, Indians, Africans, and Aboriginals. They
also have a lot of Muslims that are here. I met one Muslim boy that had the Koran
memorized which was crazy.
Anyway after the temple on Thursday we
went and played some rugby which is fun. It’s cool because Elder Anitema is
really good at cutting hair and so as we tract he offers to cut peoples hair
for free. We were actually able to give someone a Book of Mormon by doing this.
On Friday we had Zone Leader Council and we went because Elder Anitema is the
district leader. There is also trio of sisters in our district and they are the
sister training leaders. ZLC is awesome because I get to feel like I'm a leader
even though I’ve only been out 3 weeks. After that we all went to KFC which is
super big down here.
On Saturday, we went to a less
actives house and cut his grass. He is a pretty cool guy and I feel like he
wants to come back to church but doesn't feel ready. On Sunday, we had a lot of
miracles. While tracting during the week we met Liam and gave him a Book of
Mormon. We set up a return appointment and he canceled but then he said he
would come to church. And he actually did. Church was awesome and he stayed all
3 hours. He said he liked it and would come next week. We almost got another
person to come to church but when we sent a member to pick him up he decided to
stay home and said he'd come next week. After church we went over to Liam’s
house and invited him to be baptized and he said yes. We set the date for October
7th. It was a huge miracle and its super exciting. After, we went to an older
less actives house. She has a nonmember friend that stays with her and we gave
her friend a blessing. The less active also said she would come to church next
week and she would bring her friend. Then after that we rode down and talked to
another less active and it sounds like he wants to come to church again too.
It’s really cool. Hopefully we have
a big crowd in church next Sunday. How’s everything going in America? If you
have any questions about Australia email me.
Love you all lots,
Elder Nelson
