So it has been a pretty awesome
week down in the great Australia Perth Mission. So at the beginning of
this week we were visiting with one of our investigators and we learned
that there was another member in Narrogin that we did not know. We
visited them and and they fed us dinner. It was awesome.
Then late
Wednesday night, we drove up to Perth and had exchanges with the elders
up there on Thursday. I went with Elder Christofferson whos dad is the
cousin of the apostle. (so I got my connections). So in the morning we
went and did service for a less active in the ward. Apparently the
sisters in the ward set up the service for us but they forgot to tell us
that the member didn't have a mower or whipper-snipper (weed wacker) so
we had to just use our hands.
On Friday, we had our zone
conference which was super awesome. President Fife talked about the
story of Caleb in the Bible when the Israelites leave Egypt. Before they
entered the promise land they sent 12 people in to spy. The 12 brought
back lots of fruit and said the land flowed with milk and honey but all
of the 12 except Caleb and Joshua did not want to go in because they
feared the giant people that dwelt in the land. But Joshua and Caleb had
faith that God had the power to overcome any obstacle. God has promised
blessings for each of us and as we trust in Him we can be strengthened
to overcome anything.
After zone conference we drove back
down to Narrogin. And on Saturday, we had the 40th anniversary of the
Narrogin chapel. Heaps of the old members that moved out of the branch
came down to visit. We met one guy that had been a mission president in
Italy at 27 years old and had later served as temple pres and area
seventy. On Sunday, we had 48 people attend which is almost 3 times more
than usual because some of the former members stayed.
Anyway hope everyone is doing well.
Elder Nelson
