So this week was pretty awesome. So on Tuesday we had a district meeting near Perth so we took the train down. As we were traveling I started talking to a man sitting next to me. He said he was from Zimbabwe and that he was a devote Christian.  We started talking about the food from Zimbabwe and then when I told him I had 6 siblings he told me that I must be from Africa. It was funny. Before we got off he gave us his business card and told us to give him a call.

The next day we had a termite inspection and then had dinner with one of the families in the ward. On Thursday we had a short lesson with George our investigator. We read the Book of Mormon with him and at the end of the lesson he prayed to know if it was true. The Spirit was awesome. 
 
Then on Friday we had interviews with Pres Fife. After the interviews Elder Liao worked with the self reliance senior couple to fill out his application for BYU-Hawaii. 
 
On Saturday we had a service in the morning with our ward mission leader and a couple other members of the ward. There is a couple moving into the ward that are building a house so we went to put in the drainage. So we had to dig 7 huge holes into the sand (there is only sand in WA, no dirt) and trenches leading to the holes. So I definitely built some character that day.  (He is referring to the book/movie Holes)
 
Then at church we had a fun experience. so we were sitting by a family during the meeting and one moment they are there and then the next moment I look over and they are gone and there is white powder all over the pew. I was so confused. It turns out that one of the kids was playing with one of those toy balloons filled with flour things and it had burst everywhere so the family left to go clean off. Later after church we met with a less active family and had lunch.

One thing that I have learned this week is that God will put us in the places we need to be and helps us know how we can serve those around us. I hope everyone has a good week.

 This has been a really good week. Last week when we had our zone conference with Elder Ardern of the seventy he challenged us to reach the goal of every companionship finding 2 new people to teach in the next week. That meant we were shooting for 106 new people as a mission. Recently in the mission we had been struggling to find people to teach. In the past 2 weeks we had only found 40ish people. So we had to exercise a lot of faith and work hard to reach our goal. In the end we found 161 new people to teach. I thought it was so cool to feel the urgency and desire to find as many people as we can to teach the gospel to. It reminds me of a quote from preach my gospel about setting goals....  "I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. ...

This week was so awesome because we had exchanges, zone conference and general conference. So last p-day we went to a nature reserve to hike around. We met a group of older couples that were going on a tour and looking at all the flowers in the park. The guide asked if we wanted to come along so we were like sure. So we hike around and stop every few meters to look at really tiny flowers. It turns out the group is from new York which was exciting. We tried to talk to them more but they were more interested in the super tiny flowers. The entire time i was worried that i would step on a super rare Australian plant and get attacked by some old lady with a pair of binoculars. Just kidding.  Anyway on Tuesday we drove down to Katanning which is about an hour south of Narrogin. We visited some members and some potentials and then we did some tracting. Wednesday, I got transferred down to Narrogin. The elders from Narrogin drove up that morning and then Elder Richins and I drove down to the mission office in Perth. I had to get my working with children card because we are both in the young men’s presidency. After that we drove for two hours down to Narrogin. Our new flat is really nice but it looks super bad from the outside. It is three floors and it is over a restaurant on Main Street. The only way to get in is from the back alley.  Anyway, Narrogin is a really small town and our area is huge. There are lots of farmland and sheep in the area. They have a branch here and they might make a new dependent branch down in Kattaning which is like an hour and a half from here. My companion, Elder Richins, is from Henefer Utah which is a small town northeast of Salt Lake.
