This week was pretty crazy. So on Wednesday Elder Liao had an medical appointment so they can extend his visa. So we had to go to the mission office to pick up his passport and then headed to the the hospital which was south of Perth. We got there and when we talked to the people at the front desk they told us that they didn't do medical checks for visas and we realized that we had accidentally gone to 2 mills st when we were supposed to go to 2 mill st in down town Perth. So we headed back up to Perth and eventually found the right place.
Then the next day we did service for one of the recent converts in the ward. We moved heaps of boxes out of the garage so that a pest control guy could come and spray and then we moved them back in when he was done. It was really cool because before the service we had prayed that the service might lead us to an opportunity to share the gospel. Then while we were moving the boxes the member came out and told us that she had a nonmember friend there that had been going through a hard time and would like a blessing. So we were able to talk to her and share a little about the gospel and give her a blessing. It was cool.
On Saturday we started the day with a district blitz where we all tracted the houses by the beach. then we went and washed an old lady's car and as we were talking to her she told us that she had once tried to visit our chapel after a relative died but it was locked up so we invited her to the baptism but unfortunately she was busy. After we went to the chapel to start filling up the font for the baptism. The baptism was for a ten year old girl, Raedyn, whose parents had recently started coming back to church. It was cool because the father was able to baptize her and it was exciting to see how happy the family was being able to receive the blessings of the gospel. So while we were filling up the font we noticed it was going really slow but didn't think much of it. After about an hour it had only filled up to about halfway up the second step. It turns out the valve switch was broken so it never closed the drain. So we decided to use a dinner plate and put it over the drain which seemed to work and it eventually filled up. the baptism was really nice and i could definitely feel the Spirit.
then on Sunday we had heaps of people attend church and the chapel and overflow were entirely filled. During the meeting they had two baby blessings and then we did the confirmation for Raedyn. After church we had missionary correlation meeting with our ward mission leader and then we went to a baptism for an 8 year old girl in the ward.
Any way I hope everyone has a wonderful week and remember that Heavenly Father loves each of you.
Love
Elder Nelson
