So this past week and a half has
been crazy. Sorry for emailing late, today we went to the temple and did
baptisms for the dead. It was the first time I have been the one doing the
baptisms so that was cool.
So back in America it is probably
super hot but here it is cold. And this week it has been raining heaps and been
super windy.
This past week has been pretty busy
as we have been prepping to receive our smartphones and done heaps of training.
One thing that we discussed that I thought applied to everyday life is being
constantly aware of ourselves and having a plan for whenever we feel easily
tempted. Also in the meetings they talked about all that we can use our phones
for like Facebook lessons and planning.
Then last Friday we had a lesson
with one of the new people we are teaching. She is the partner of one of the
less actives in the ward. If was an awesome lesson and we definitely felt the
Spirit as we testified of how we know the gospel is true.
Then Sunday was really fun. Elder Alamoni
and I got to pass the sacrament in the ward because there weren't enough
deacons and teachers. Then in 3rd hour us missionaries had the 5th Sunday
combined lesson. We talked about member missionary work in the ward and how
members can share the gospel with others. Near the end Elder Alamoni and I had
to do a role play in front of the ward to give an example of a member sharing
the gospel. I was the member and it was different trying to act like I wasn't a
missionary but I think we did alright and it wasn't too awkward.
Then on Monday we had service for a
less active family that was moving houses and then later helped another member
who was moving into the area.
On Tuesday we got our smartphones
and spent an hour or two setting them up and moving all the contacts from the
old phone to our new ones. Then the next day the service for the old phone died
but for some reason it didn't switch to the new phone. So we raced around town
on our bikes searching for the other elders so we could figure out how to get
our phone working. We finally found them and figured out that all we had to do
was pop the SIM card out and put it back in again.
I hope all is well and everyone has
a great week.
Elder Nelson
