This week was pretty awesome. So at the beginning of the
week we did some service for a lady in the ward who is moving back to the UK in
a little bit. The other missionaries in the ward came as well as another
member. We helped her to organize and move a lot of boxes she had in her garage
which took a while. During the service my companion and one of the district
leader went on a mini exchange to visit with one of the boys we are teaching.
They were able to teach him and he agreed to be baptized in 2 weeks. So that
was exciting.
On Halloween we went to the stake trunk or treat at the
chapel. It was pretty crazy. There were a good number of cars that were set up
for the trunk or treat. (about the same number as back in the US) but there we
were heaps of people that came through and a lot of them were nonmembers that
showed up. So it was good and we were able to catch up with a lot of the
members we haven't seen in a while. It was funny because over here they call
the car trunk a "boot" so I think a lot of people had no idea why it
was called a trunk or treat. There was also one member that brought a massive
sail boat instead of a car which was cool as well.
On Friday it was my companions birthday and we also had
interviews with the mission president. And so the district brought a cake and
presents and we had like a mini birthday party while pres was interviewing us.
On Sunday we had ward council in the morning. Then during
sacrament meeting we had a partmember family come who hadn't been to church
ever while I have been here. It was cool because that morning we had prayer
that we would see someone at church that hadn't been in a while and God
defiantly answered our prayer. After church we had a couple meetings about a
free carwash that we will be doing at the chapel next week.
Well that's about all. I today we have our district pday at
the chapel and then a lesson with a partmember family.
Hope everyone has a great week.
