G'day mates.
Well since it has only been about 4 days since I emailed last week, this will be a shorter email I think.
This
week we have been doing quite a bit of contacting in the parks
downtown. It is always fun talking to the different people. There is a
lot of tourists that come here so we talk to people from Japan, China,
France, Germany and heaps of other countries.
Anyway,
I had this funny experience contacting the other day. My companion
needed to use the toilet so while he was in the toilet I was just
standing outside doing nothing so I decided to say a silent prayer that
God would send someone to me that I could talk to. It was cool because
less then a minute later this random guy walks up and said "Hi elder how
are you". I was like wow that was fast. It turns out he was a member
from one of ward in Perth.
On
Friday we had an appointment with one of the part-member families in our
area. We took one of members with us and had an awesome lesson on the
plan of Salvation.
Then
finally the craziest thing that happen this past week was last night a
little before 10. We got a transfer call from the assistants which
surprised us because they usually call on Saturday and since we didn't
get a call on Saturday we thought we were both staying. So the crazy
part is that Elder Afualo (my current companion) and I will still be
staying together, but they are moving us both out to Kalgoorlie to
replace the elders that moved. So after only 6 weeks here in Geraldton
I'm moving again.
I look forward to Kalgoorlie
(google it, it's pretty cool) which is a massive gold mining town in the
middle of the outback. So to get there we have to take the 6 hour bus
down to Perth and then a 7 hour train out to Kalgoorlie which should be
fun.
Oh also this
morning I finished the challenge Pres Nelson gave to the sister in The Church and that our mission President gave to all of us elders in the
mission as well, to read and mark all the references to Jesus Christ in
the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. It has been an awesome
experience to read an ponder about our Saviour. One thing that has stood
about to me on the mission is the spiritual power of the Book of
Mormon. I have been blessed with increased knowledge, desire, faith and
testimony from following the invitation from the prophet.
I hope everyone has an awesome week. And I email you guys next year.
Love
Elder Nelson
