This past week and a half has been pretty awesome. I try to remember all the cool things that happened since it has been a while.
Last week it was really hot. There were a good number of days in the 40s and two days in a row where it hit 44. The people here in Kalgoorlie are really nice and I remember while tracting on one of the really hot days we got 15 bottles/cups of water in a matter of a couple hours.
On Tuesday we were walking around later in the evening and the person we had planned on visiting wasn't home and as we were trying to figure out where to go, a car pulled up and the guy driving told us he was Lehi and asked us if we wanted to come to dinner. We'll of course we said yes. He turned out to be a member who hadn't been to church in a while. His partner was a nonmember. She had met with the missionaries in the past and had been close to being baptized but never had. It was cool running into then and hopefully we can start working more with them. Thinking about it it reminds me of the story of Lehi calling his family to come and partake of the fruit. Haha

On Thursday we were able to share the restoration with a young couple that we met. They are wanting to get back into church. I love sharing with people about the first vision because the spirit is always so strong.
It was really windy on Thursday. As we were walking we passed a trampoline that blow over and we were able to get it back up again for the lady who lived there. It probably took less then a minute but it made me feel good being able to do that simple service.
Here in Kal every Saturday they play touch rugby. There are a lot of members that play so we went down during the evenings to talk to people. We spoke with one of the young men in the ward who is preparing for his mission. He invited us to come meet his friends and to share what we do as missionaries and why. It was so cool.

On Monday we had dinner with the Bishop and his family. We were really excited for the visit not only because they make really good Filipino food, but they also invited two work mates from China to come as well. We shared a short message about Jesus Christ with them.

On Tuesday we had our trip to Perth. We usually take a train down to Perth but there was a bush fire that was near the tracks so they used buses instead. The bus ride took 8.5 hours since we had to stop in the middle of nowhere a couple times to pick up passengers. When we got to Perth we went right to the chapel where they had a meeting with us country missionaries. The next day we had a conference with Elder Ardern. He is one of the general authority seventy that serves in the pacific area presidency. He gave us a lot of counsel for how to be successful missionaries. At the very start of the conference he had all of us get out a piece of paper and at the top of it write "things that I will act on" and then number 1-10. He told us that doing so showed God our desire to receive revelation, our faith that we would receive it, and our commitment to act on it. I learned heaps from him. He also told us some of the secrets about general conference.

After the conference we had another meeting for our country Zone to discuss how we would implement things that we had learned. Then we were able to attend the temple. I always look forward to the spirit felt in the temple.

Then on Thursday we got up early again and took the train back to Kalgoorlie. It was almost 8 hours back.

I think that is about it. I know that God is there. He is our Father and He loves us. He wants us to understand His truth and to act upon it so that we might be saved. I know that as we follow the prophets, study the scriptures, participate in ordinances, and sincerely pray to Him, we will receive the strength and power to do what is right.
Have a great week.

Love,
Elder Nelson
