Its crazy. This transfer has gone by so
fast. This is the last week. Also next Monday is a holiday because of
the queens birthday so p-day is on Tuesday.
So
last Monday we had our district p-day but we were combined with
Thornlie ward. We all got together at the chapel and played games like
the egg and spoon race, moving m&ms from one bowl to another with a
straw, apple bobbing, and others. It was lots of fun. Then we made heaps
of food and had a feast. Later that night at an appointment we were
talking and all of a sudden I felt really sick. it was like nothing I'd
ever felt before. I had elder Anitema give me a blessing and it helped a
lot. Then the person we were visiting decided he wanted to help so he
said the Lord's prayer in Maori over some water and then flicked it at
us. It was so weird.
The next day I felt great. The
Priesthood is awesome! We had district meeting and then later that night
we had a meeting with all the ward councils in the Southern River
Stake. There was an Area Seventy there and he talked about missionaries
and members need to work together to bring people into the church and
strengthen the wards.
On
Wednesday we were tracting and this old Indian man let us inside his
home. We were sitting there and all of a sudden he grabs his head and
starts moaning and shaking. then he started shouting in a different
language and barking and going crazy. We gave him a blessing and he
calmed down a little. He told us people in India cursed him because he
came to Australia. we gave him our number and left. Apparently in
Australia there are lots of things like this happen.
On
Thursday we rode the bus down to Byford and went to a member's house to
pull weeds. I also saw my first kangaroo. That night we had a dinner
appointment with a Tongan family which was fun. They also gave us lots
of food.
On Saturday we had another exchange
with the zone leaders. In the morning we went with the elders quorum on a
hike of a waterfall. It was cool. Then later that night we had a
cottage evening which is when nonmembers and investigators go to a
members house. It is kind of like FHE (Family Home Evening).
On
Sunday we had 2 investigators of the sisters come to church. later that
night the two elders in Narrogin drove up for zone p-day today.
Narrogin is a country area about 2 hours away. the area is the size of
Colorado. We are doing exchanges with them this week.
Anyway
I hope everything is going well in America. My spiritual thought for
the week is the importance of daily repentance. We have all come to
earth to learn and grow through our experiences to become like our
Heavenly father. Each day we should strive to become a little better and
as we repent each day we change and can feel God's love more in our
life.
Have a great week.
Love,
Elder Nelson
