This week has been crazy. So on Monday we were up in Perth for our zone
p-day. With the rest of the zone we played games like chair soccer,
kickball, and red light-green light. I also got Elder Mejia to teach me
how to play Australian Rules Football, or Footy. Afterwards we went on
exchanges with the District leader, Elder Kleven. They had a long list
of referrals from years ago so we started calling each one. I called one
guy and it turns out that he had already joined the church but had
moved and didn't know where the chapel was in his new city so we got him
in contact with the missionaries there.
The next morning we had
district meeting and we were actually there in person instead of having
to skype in. After district meeting Elder Mejia and Elder Kleven went to
the mission office to get elder Mejia's Bike fixed, and I went with
Elder Christofferson and then we swapped when they came back after lunch
and I was with Elder Kleven again. The next day we traveled back down
to Narrogin.
Then on Thursday, we were calling President for
our weekly report and he told us about transfers early. I am getting
transferred to a northern suburb of Perth to Butler ward. It is the
highest north ward in the mission (all other congregations are
branches). My new comp is Elder Liao who is a convert from China. It is
crazy moving because I have been in Narrogin for 5 transfers and have
gone through 4 companions here.
The rest of the week has been
pretty good. On Sunday, one of our investigators was able to come
again. The branch down here is great and always makes sure to make the
investigators we bring feel special. They had me bear my testimony since
I am going. Then in the second hour the branch Pres taught the gospel
principles lesson. It was an awesome lesson. So he started off by going
to a book case and grabbing a pamphlet and ripped it up into little
pieces. then he put them all in a rubbish bin and handed it to Elder
Mejia and told him to make it into a book. Elder Mejia was like how do I
do that, so trying to be the helpful companion I am, I suggested he
shake it, and so he shook the bin and nothing happened. The branch
president then took the bin and threw all the paper in the air. He then
talked about how no matter how long you shake it the paper will never
become a book. He related this to how the creation and existence of the
earth and humans is evidence of God because the creation could not
happen by chance. The rest of the lesson was pretty good too although no
more books were ripped up and thrown in the air. I'm going to miss the
branch.
After Church we had a lesson with
our investigator and she told us that she wanted to be baptized so we
put her on date for the 12 of May. So that was exciting.
Anyway I hope everyone has a good week.
Love,
Elder Nelson
