So this week started out pretty great. We had an appointment with one of the part member families in the ward and shared a short lesson with them. Then we started discussing baptism with the 9 year old daughter in the family. The father is a member and the 2 oldest kids as well. But the daughter hasn't been baptized and wasn't sure about it because she is pretty shy and doesn't like to be the centre of attention. So as we were talking, the mom who also hadn't been baptized, suggested that we have a double baptism in December with her and the daughter. So we were super excited to see the mom having the desire to be baptized as well, so we hope to make that a reality this next month. Another big miracle for them was that they were able to get a new car. So now that they have reliable transportation they are committed to come to church each week.

So a cool thing they do here in Australia is once a year they have a bulk verge collection where you can throw any large item (like old furniture, electronics, and basically anything else) on the curb and trucks will come by to pick it all up and get rid of it. So these past couple weeks people have been putting items out on the curb and other people will come by to see if there is anything they want. One of the members has been going around and opening up all the electronics to take the copper so he can sell it.

Then on Tuesday we overbooked ourselves so we had two dinner appointments and then later that night we started our exchange with the other missionaries in the ward. So on Wednesday I was with Elder Tuera who is a missionary from Tahiti. He is funny as. We went to a community garden in their area and helped to water some of the plants. Then after, we went to an old Italian man's house for lunch. He works at the gardens and also invited two other ladies from the garden to come to lunch as well so we got to share a bit about the gospel with them.

On Friday we went with the bishop to help move some furniture from one of the members homes into a storage unit. Then later that evening we met with the youth who had agreed to be baptized. He said he didn't think he would be ready for next week to be baptized so we will be pushing the date back a little and will be continuing to work with him. We are very confident that he will be ready for baptism soon so we look forward to it.

On Saturday we had a combined activity with the other ward at the chapel. We did a free carwash and chapel tours. We had a family we are teaching come which was nice. Then later that evening we attended a baptism for a Filipino lady in the other ward. They had asked all the missionaries in their ward and our ward to sing at it which was fun.

Then yesterday we had the primary presentation which is also known as the "white Sunday" here because all the primary children wear white. It was a really good presentation and the Spirit was strong. After church we had lunch with our assistant ward mission leader and his family. Also on Sunday they started handing out the #LightTheWorld papers for this year. It looks awesome and I am excited to be able to participate in it this Christmas season.

Not too much else happened this week. But we look forward to this next week and the miracles we see.

Love
Elder Nelson
