This has been a really good week. Last week when we had our zone conference with Elder Ardern of the seventy he challenged us to reach the goal of every companionship finding 2 new people to teach in the next week. That meant we were shooting for 106 new people as a mission. Recently in the mission we had been struggling to find people to teach. In the past 2 weeks we had only found 40ish people. So we had to exercise a lot of faith and work hard to reach our goal. In the end we found 161 new people to teach. I thought it was so cool to feel the urgency and desire to find as many people as we can to teach the gospel to. It reminds me of a quote from preach my gospel about setting goals.... "I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. ...

This past week and a half has been pretty awesome. I try to remember all the cool things that happened since it has been a while. Last week it was really hot. There were a good number of days in the 40s and two days in a row where it hit 44. The people here in Kalgoorlie are really nice and I remember while tracting on one of the really hot days we got 15 bottles/cups of water in a matter of a couple hours. On Tuesday we were walking around later in the evening and the person we had planned on visiting wasn't home and as we were trying to figure out where to go, a car pulled up and the guy driving told us he was Lehi and asked us if we wanted to come to dinner. We'll of course we said yes. He turned out to be a member who hadn't been to church in a while. His partner was a nonmember. She had met with the missionaries in the past and had been close to being baptized but never had. It was cool running into then and hopefully we can start working more with ...

This has been a pretty crazy week. So to start off last Monday after emailing we went to a park here in Kalgoorlie and saw some emus. We also went up to the this big water reservoir that holds all the water for Kalgoorlie. Since we are in the middle of the desert all the water has to be pumped in. It was pretty cool.We also met with a family that hadn't been to church in a while. I remember as we visited with them the wife told us that she misses the spirit being in the home. It made me think about how from the gospel we receive so many blessing especially being able to have the Spirit with us. I hope we will be able to help this family to come back to church so that they can receive those same blessings they once had. On Tuesday after lunch we had an appointment with a couple that we met tracting. I was super excited for the visit because they seemed keen as. When we got to the house and knocked no one answered. So we decided to say a prayer and then felt...

This week we have been seeing a lot of miracles here in the Goldfields. On Tuesday we drove out to a little town called Coolgardie which is about 35 kms south west of Kalgoorlie. We spent the day there doing heaps of tracting. At the very last house we knocked on we found a member that we didn't know about. That was pretty cool. On Wednesday we had our zone conference for all the missionaries who are out in the distant country areas. It was done over a video conference app that we have on our phones. So we were at the chapel for the most part of the day. Our mission President focused on how we can become consecrated missionaries and improving our planning, finding, and teaching. Later that day it started raining and when it rains here is rains pretty hard and the streets flood. And because there is red sand/dirt everywhere here the water turns red as well. Sometimes I wish I had Moses as my companion so he could part the red sea. Haha. So we were going around follo...

So since it has been only a couple days since I emailed last not too much has happened. We have been focusing on meeting all the members in our area. On Thursday we were able to meet with one of the families from New Zealand and then afterwards we had dinner with another member couple. The wife was from Chile and she made us Chilean hot dogs. On Friday we did some tracting and then afterwards we followed up with a young guy we met the other week. He invited us in and we were able to share with him the restoration. He accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon and agreed to read and pray about it. I will keep you updated on him. On Saturday we had another baptism for a members child. It was awesome because they had invited a good number of their nonmember friends to come and they came. We talked with them afterwards and they told us about how much that they had enjoyed the baptismal service. Saturday was also really hot again. On Sunday we had two of the people we are te...

So our pday got pushed back to today because Monday was a public holiday. Anyway this past week has been awesome. Last Monday we had a family home evening with one of the families in the ward. We shared the restoration lesson with them. They have a family member staying with them who is not a member and they later told us that after we left they started asking heaps of questions about the lesson we shared and the family was able to share more with them. On Wednesday we had a nice pancake breakfast with one of the member families. Then later that afternoon we had our last English class meeting with Hoje before he heads back to China this week. On Friday we had another lesson with Jade. I think I talked about her last week. She was baptized in Queensland before moving here to Kalgoorlie. We taught her and the kids the plan of Salvation and invited them to church this Sunday. Then later we had our interviews with the mission President. Because we are out in...
